COVID-19 Vaccines

While many people with COVID-19 have only a mild illness, others may get a severe illness or they may even die. There is no way to know how COVID-19 will affect you, even if you are not at increased risk of severe complications. If you get sick, you also may spread the disease to friends, family, and others around you while you are sick. COVID-19 vaccination helps protect you by creating an antibody response without having to experience sickness.

Vaccine Availability

UK St. Claire administers the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine and the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. Both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines require a second dose to get the most protection the vaccine has to offer against this serious disease. A second dose will be administered at least 28 days after your first dose of the Moderna vaccine and 21 days after the Pfizer vaccine. Patients who are moderately to severely immunocompromised are recommended to receive a third dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine 28 days after their second dose to get the best protection from COVID-19.

COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters

The FDA has approved and recommends a bivalent booster for eligible patients who have received the initial vaccination series. To see if you or a loved one are eligible, view the CDC's information about COVID-19 vaccine boosters.
