UK St. Claire (SCH) is pleased to introduce Marsha Plank, RN, BSN, as the new Nurse Manager for Perioperative Services.
Plank is from Mt. Olivet, Kentucky, and earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Maysville Community and Technical College. She later obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University. She began her career at SCH in 2014 working in the OR, and her love of the surgery department grew from there. Throughout her time in the healthcare system, she has worked in several roles for surgical services, including Assistant Nurse Manager. After spending some time being a stay-at-home mom and a travel nurse, she has come back to St. Claire and the department she loves.
“Coming back to this department and hospital feels a lot like coming home for me,” Plank said. “I am excited to be a leader so that I can make a difference and highlight all of my nurses’ strengths. I want this department to be a place where nurses want to grow their love for the OR, just like I did.”
In her new role, Plank is responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient care, promoting the development of nursing and support staff, and ensuring the department operates efficiently while maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory policies and standards.
