UK St. Claire (SCH) is pleased to announce Mindy Highley will join the SCH family as Executive Director, Community Engagement & Philanthropy.
“I am more than excited to join this team,” Highley said. “St. Claire’s mission speaks personally to who I am and I’m looking forward to serving the people of Eastern Kentucky.”
A native of Morehead and long-time resident of Owingsville, Highley will lead SCH’s efforts to expand its community engagement and philanthropy initiatives throughout the region while providing oversight for the St. Claire Foundation’s strategic fundraising initiatives.
Highley, who recently retired from a nearly 30-year career in Morehead State University’s Office of Alumni Relations & Development, is credited with leading fundraising campaigns that raised tens of millions of dollars to support facilities, scholarships, and other priorities.
“Private giving made a tremendous impact on the lives of students at Morehead State and it’s just as important to St. Claire’s mission,” Highley said. “Donations from generous supporters, no matter the size of the gift, impact SCH’s ability to grow the services it offers, renovate and expand its facilities, and offer financial assistance to the uninsured or underinsured throughout the region.”
While fundraising will be a primary focus of her new role, Highley will also be tasked with oversight, planning, and implementation of programs and activities designed to enhance community engagement and volunteer opportunities.
“So many people throughout the region understand and appreciate St. Claire’s value to the communities it serves and want to help make a difference, but don’t necessarily know how to give back,” said Highley. “I want to connect with those people and help them discover ways they can get involved and help support SCH’s mission.”
She assumes her new role at SCH later this fall.
