Jenkins Named Medical Director, Hospitalist Services at UK St. Claire

UK St. Claire (SCH) is pleased to announce John R. Jenkins, DO, has accepted the role of Medical Director, Hospitalist Services.
As medical director, Dr. Jenkins will serve as the administrative liaison for the hospitalist group and will provide clinical leadership for quality initiatives. Additionally, he will serve as a member of the St. Claire Medical Group Leadership Council and will work to build collaborative relationships with the emergency department, referring practices, and specialists.
A native of Sandy Hook, Dr. Jenkins earned his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Morehead State University in 2007 and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Pikeville – Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012. He completed his internal medicine residency at Norton Community Hospital in Virginia and later joined their medical staff as a full-time hospitalist physician.
Dr. Jenkins returned home to Eastern Kentucky in July 2020 to join the SCH medical staff as a hospitalist at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. He will continue to work as a full-time clinical member of the hospitalist team in addition to his responsibilities as medical director.
