UK St. Claire (SCH) is pleased to announce Leann McConnell, MSN, RN-BC, as the new Administrative Director of Critical Care.
“The people of Appalachia and Eastern Kentucky are near and dear to my heart. As a Mission-driven nurse, I knew that Saint Claire would provide the perfect environment and opportunity to become part of the greater good, as we strive to bring evidence-based, high-reliability healthcare to the citizens of Eastern Kentucky,” said McConnell.
McConnell, a Board Certified RN, brings several years of nursing and leadership skills to her new position, having served in emergency, cardiac cath, and critical care settings. Throughout her career, she has constantly strived to provide the best care for her patients. As a leader, she has worked to implement policies and procedures to help develop staff and increase the quality of care.
As the Administrative Director of Critical Care, McConnell oversees nursing operations in the Emergency Department and ICU, ensuring a high standard of care and evidence-based nursing care is delivered to all patients. She supports the Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer in the design of nursing care and delivery through the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols. McConnell also collaborates with department leaders to ensure compliance and the attainment of SCH’s goals.
“I am privileged and blessed to become part of the St. Claire family and hope to serve our organization for many years to come. I am excited about all the great things we can do in this ministry. Thank you for the opportunity to truly answer the call to serve,” McConnell added.
