UK St. Claire is proud to welcome family medicine physicians Derek Keller, DO, and Jenna McKinney, DO, to its growing medical staff. Dr. Keller and Dr. McKinney are now seeing and accepting new patients at the UK St. Claire Morehead-Downtown primary care clinic.
Dr. Keller and Dr. McKinney are no strangers to SCH having just completed their residency through the University of Kentucky Family Medicine Residency Program – Rural Track in June.
A resident of Grayson, KY, Dr. Keller obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Pikeville in 2016. He continued his medical education at the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Keller is passionate about giving back to the rural communities and being part of a healthcare organization like SCH that shares the same mission and goals that he does in providing care.
“I love giving back to the area I am from and to the people who made me who I am,” said Dr. Keller. “Family medicine has allowed me to form relationships with the community and helping patients through their health problems.”
Dr. McKinney, a native of Pikeville, KY, graduated from Morehead State University with her Bachlor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2016. She continued her medical education at the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. Dr. McKinney chose family medicine due to the opportunities of helping those of all ages in underserved communities.
“Getting to establish relationships with my patients, watching their families grow, being there for them during the ups and downs of life, and getting to invest in their health and celebrate with them when health goals are met is beyond rewarding,”said Dr. McKinney.
