Morehead Optimist Club Celebrates St. Claire HealthCare 60th Anniversary

St. Claire HealthCare is proud to have the Morehead Optimist Club as a corporate sponsor in celebration of the 60^th anniversary. The Morehead Optimist Club has made a generous $10,000 contribution that will be used to support community initiatives in giving back to the people of Eastern Kentucky.

“The Morehead Optimist Club is excited to help commemorate the 60 years of St. Claire HealthCare,” said Bill Redwine, President of the Morehead Optimist Club. “All this is a fitting reminder that both St. Claire and the Optimist Club are here to serve the community.”

Through this partnership, The Morehead Optimist Club was the presenting sponsor for SCH’s recent Back-to-School Extravaganza, with over 400 kids receiving health education, community resources, school supplies, and more. The Optimist Club will also be the presenting sponsor for Camp Smile, an annual day camp out that provides grieving children in our region with access to trained bereavement counselors along with activities to understand feelings of grief or loss better.

“The St. Claire Foundation is grateful that the Morehead Optimist Club has chosen to partner with us to support the young people of our area,” said Mindy Highley, Executive Director of Community Engagement & Philanthropy. “The projects they have chosen to support will make a tremendous impact.”

Along with the events, The Morehead Optimist Club sponsorship will aid in the purchase of the Emergency Room teddy bears. Often, children are anxious and scared when they come to the ER for treatment, but their anxiety and tension levels may lessen with a stuffed animal to befriend.
