UK St. Claire Board of Directors Announces New Leadership; Welcomes New Member

UK St. Claire is pleased to announce two long-time members of the UK St. Claire Board of Directors have been appointed to leadership positions and a member of the SCH medical staff has joined the Board.

William “Bill” Redwine was appointed Chair of the Board. Redwine, a Sandy Hook native and Morehead resident, is an active member of the community who has served the SCH Board for seven years in addition to serving as Chair for the UK St. Claire Foundation.

In addition to his service to St. Claire, Redwine is Chair of the Morehead Optimist Club, served 26 years as a member of the Rowan County Board of Education (five of those as Chair), as well as the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Bank Advisory Board, Hepburn Masonic Lodge $576, Valley of Covington Scottish Rite Masons, El Hasa Shrine, and the MSU Alumni Association.

He holds a bachelor's degree in government and public affairs from Morehead State where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and active in the Student Government Association. His graduate studies include the areas of higher education, business and sociology. Redwine recently retired as Assistant Vice President, Auxiliary Services at Morehead State University after nearly 40 years of service.

Anthony “Tony” Helton was appointed Vice Chair. He has served the Board for eight years, most recently as Chair of the Finance Committee. Helton has many community service associations including the Alliance for Catholic Urban Education Board of Directors and the DCCH Center for Families and Children Board of Directors.

Helton received a Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Finance and Human Resources from Northern Kentucky University. He also received an Executive Integral Leadership Certification from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Helton currently serves as the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations for St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bill and Tony as the new Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors,” said Donald H. Lloyd, II, SCH President/CEO. “Their exceptional leadership, insight, and passion for healthcare make them an ideal choice to guide our institution toward continued growth and success.”

Sr. Marla Monahan, SND, completed her second term as Board Chair and will continue to serve the Board as Past Chair.

The Board also welcomed new member, Phillip “Brad” Baker, DO.

Dr. Baker joined the SCH medical staff in 2016 as a family medicine physician at its Owingsville clinic and now cares for patients as a hospitalist at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. He currently serves as President/Chief of Staff for the SCH medical staff and has held additional leadership roles including secretary-treasurer, chair, and vice-chair of the Department of Medicine.

A graduate of the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Baker completed his residency through the University of Kentucky Family Community Medicine Residency Program.

“Dr. Baker’s medical expertise and commitment to patient-centered care will provide invaluable insight as we continue to grow our health system to meet the needs of those we are called to serve,” said Lloyd.

The UK St. Claire Board of Directors provides strategic oversight, guidance, and stewardship to the healthcare system. The Board ensures St. Claire continues to honor its mission, operates effectively, and remains alighted with its values while delivering high-quality healthcare services to the region.

“We are so grateful to these men and women for their service to our ministry,” Lloyd added. “We are blessed with strong leaders who are committed to our mission to proclaim God’s goodness through a healing ministry to the people of Eastern Kentucky.”
