St. Claire HealthCare Hosts Event to Get Children Ready for School

Last week, St. Claire HealthCare hosted a Back to School Extravaganza, presented by the Morehead Optimist Club. With the new school year just around the corner, hundreds of school-aged children and their families came from 13 counties to join the activities.

“We are so thankful to be able to serve this amazing community and especially its children,” said Donald H. Lloyd, II, SCH President/CEO. “It has been wonderful seeing all the kids come out to our extravaganza to have a great time and get excited to start a new school year.”

Kids of all ages had a great time with the inflatables and other games and activities while parents were able to talk with physicians, pick up valuable educational information on immunizations, developmental milestones, and so much more.

To help with the back-to-school checklist, SCH gave away free school supplies and offered free sports physicals for children participating in team sports this school year. Plus, several lucky children won door prizes, including backpacks full of school supplies, gift cards, Kindle Fire tablets, a printer, and a laptop computer.

If your child needs a school or sports physical, call SCH at 606.780.5500 to schedule an appointment with their Primary Care or Pediatric Clinics. Sports physicals are also available at St. Claire’s two Urgent Care Centers in Morehead (431 Hampton Way and 1028 E. Main St.) without an appointment.
