St. Claire HealthCare Receives Quality Award from Kentucky Hospital Association

St. Claire HealthCare recently received recognition for its quality programs from the Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA) as a recipient of its Annual Quality Awards.

Members of SCH’s team accepted the award at the KHA’s 94th Annual Convention held in May. The award was given to hospitals and healthcare systems that demonstrate a dedication to patient safety and are persistent in going above and beyond what is expected for providing quality care.

“We are honored to have the hard work of everyone in our organization recognized by the KHA,” said William Melahn, MD, SCH Senior Vice President, Quality and Clinical Affairs. “St. Claire HealthCare has always been dedicated to providing the highest quality care to our patients, at all levels, from all departments. That was the mission that created our healthcare system 60 years ago and we still embody that today.”

This year marks the 60th anniversary of SCH’s service to the people of Eastern Kentucky. SCH is the largest employer in the region with over 1,300 staff members, including a growing medical staff of more than 125 physicians and nearly 70 advanced practice professionals representing more than 30 medical specialties. The healthcare system includes the largest rural hospital in Eastern Kentucky with 159 beds, seven primary care locations, located within five counties, a multi-specialty medical pavilion, two urgent care center locations, an outpatient center, homecare services, and multiple retail services including family medical supply, pharmacy, and aesthetics.
