UK St. Claire Announces New Professional Development Managers

UK St. Claire is pleased to announce the creation of two new leadership roles within the organization to enhance professional development across the health system.
Michelle Brown, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, CPHQ, has taken on the role of Manager, Professional Development Clinical, and Richard Burke, MHA, SHRM-CP, SHRM-PASC, now serves as Manager, Professional Development Non-Clinical.
Brown, from Grayson, Kentucky, has 25 years of nursing experience with 14 years of experience with nursing education. She graduated from Ashland Community College with an Associate of Science in Nursing, from Bellarmine University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Science in Nursing Education. Michelle holds certifications in Nursing Professional Development and as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
“I love being a nurse educator,” said Brown. “I can remember what it was like to be new, and I want to help lessen the fears and stresses with the transition into the workplace setting by navigating and advising new team members. I want them to feel cared for, supported, and like they always have someone to come to if needed.”
Burke, from West Liberty, Kentucky, has been in healthcare now for 15 years in various roles. He has an Associate of Science from Ohio University Southern Campus, a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from Kaplan University, and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Purdue Global.
“As I embark on this new role in non-clinical professional development, my commitment is to cultivate an environment where every team member thrives,” said Burke. “Together, we will continue on a path that not only transforms our workplace but propels UK St. Claire toward the prestigious designation of ‘Best Places to Work’.”
In these roles, Brown and Burke will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programs and training materials to support the professional growth and development of SCH employees. They will assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identify and arrange suitable training solutions. They will ensure research and evidence-based learning are used to achieve optimal outcomes and strategic goals of the organization. They will also be a resource for staff and the leadership team to elevate practice and professionalism.
