When medical care is necessary, financial worries shouldn’t be a determining factor in the level of care patients seek. UK St. Claire (SCH) strives to help every patient in need through the St. Claire Charity Care Fund.
Many people throughout St. Claire’s service region are in desperate need of healthcare, yet don’t have the means to pay for it. The St. Claire Charity Care Fund helps to provide quality healthcare to low-income families within our region, no matter their needs and what they may or may not be able to afford.
Better Life Church in Morehead generously donated $15,000 in December toward this fund to cover medical expenses for SCH patients who may have struggled to pay outstanding healthcare bills.
“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of Better Life Church. This contribution has helped us make a financial difference in many lives,” said Mindy Highley, SCH Executive Director, Community Engagement & Philanthropy. “Through this donation, hundreds of Rowan County residents received an unexpected Christmas card that announced a gift from the church was covering an outstanding bill.”

“Year after year, the charity care fund makes a true difference in the lives of many patients at St. Claire. Any gift of any amount is appreciated and will be put to use right away to provide care for those who need it most,” Highley added.
