Northeast Substance Use Response Coalition Named RCORP Champion

St. Claire HealthCare would like to congratulate the Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center’s Northeast Substance Use Response Coalition for being recognized at the Rural Communities Health Connections Summit in Washington, DC, as one of its inaugural RCORP Champions.

RCORP, the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program, is a multi-year program working toward ending the opioid epidemic. It helps to address the barriers to treatments for substance use disorder (SUD), including opioid use disorder (OUD).

At the summit, Implementation II & III Project Director KaSandra Hanshaw; and Implementation IV Project Director Carla Terry spoke to over 700 other grantees from 48 states and three territories on the work being done through the RCORP Implementations grants in our region.

The Champions were nominated by RCORP Project Officers, who then subsequently vote with the Technical Expert Leads as well as RCORP office leadership to determine the winners. Nominees were voted on based on the following:

  • Innovative Approaches
  • New Products and Ideas
  • Ability to Overcome Challenges
  • Quantitative Accomplishments and Impacts
  • Replicable Efforts
