UK St. Claire is proud to announce The Citizens Bank has made a generous commitment to support healthcare professionals by funding two new scholarships through the SCH Foundation. The Citizens Bank HealthCare Scholarship and the Alpha M. Hutchinson Memorial Scholarship, in memory of the long-time Chairman and CEO of The Citizens Bank, are awarded to students who receive these awards from Bath, Rowan, or Morgan Counties who are majoring in the healthcare field. These scholarships also come with an offer of employment from SCH upon completion of their degree.
Ava Enoch, a graduate of Bath County High School, is the recipient of The Citizens Bank HealthCare Scholarship. This fall, Enoch will be a freshman at the University of Kentucky (UK) and will be majoring in pre-pharmacy/health sciences with plans to enroll in the UK College of Pharmacy. Enoch aspires to be a Pharmacist to aid in the education of prescription drugs ensuring patients know and are able to recognize the dangers and effects of medications. Throughout her high school career, Enoch was active in several academic groups and volunteered in her community with toy drives and nursing home visits.
Brianna Lewis, a graduate of Morgan County High School, is the recipient of the Alpha M. Hutchinson Memorial Scholarship. This fall, Lewis will be a freshman at Morehead State University and will be majoring in bio-medical sciences/pre-Physician Assistant. Lewis plans to enroll in the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Studies Program once she obtains her undergraduate degree. She hopes to help patients who are dealing with a variety of health concerns. Throughout her high school career, Lewis was a member of several academic groups and was a participant in Governors Scholars Program, Rural Health Scholars, and the UK AHEC Summer Enrichment Camp.
“Ava and Brianna are well deserving of the first healthcare scholarships from The Citizens Bank,” said Ryan Neff, Vice President of The Citizens Bank. “Both have shown academic excellence in their studies and have bright futures ahead of them as they chase their careers in healthcare.”
