UK St. Claire would like to welcome Marilyn Johnson, MSN, BSN, RN, to its nursing leadership team. Johnson has accepted the role of Nurse Manager for St. Claire Regional Medical Center’s 4 Center and Labor & Delivery units.
“I am thrilled to have Marilyn as part of the SCH nursing leadership team. She brings a wealth of obstetrics nursing experience to SCH,” said Lerae Wilson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CPPS, Vice President of Patient Services, and Chief Nursing Officer for SCH.
In her new position, Johnson will oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care, promote the development of nursing and support staff, and ensure the department operates efficiently while maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory policies and standards.
“Taking care of mothers and babies is my passion,” said Johnson. “I chose St. Claire as I wanted something closer to home and wanted to remain caring for people in a rural area.”
Originally from Harrison County, Kentucky, Johnson began working in labor and delivery after graduating with her Associate Degree in Nursing from Maysville Community College. She received a BSN from Chamberlain University and later went on to earn her MSN in Executive Nursing from Chamberlain as well. She has over 15 years of nursing experience in OB and OR/PACU.
