UK St. Claire is proud to have nurses who, not only deliver excellent care, but are also dedicated to caring for the people of Eastern Kentucky. National Nurses Week, celebrated May 6-12, is an opportunity to recognize all their hard work.
This year in honor of National Nurses Week, SCH hosted a celebration breakfast for all nursing staff. Followed by SCH’s 2023 Nursing Excellence Awards ceremony.
“Our nurses are the best of the best, and I want to thank them for everything they do,” said Lerae Wilson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CPPS, Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer for SCH. “Their dedication, hard work, and sacrifices for our patients make them a vital part of St. Claire, and we are honored they chose to be part of our family.”
Nurses from all areas of the healthcare system were eligible for the Nursing Excellence Awards. Those with the highest number of mentions in the Press Ganey surveys completed by patients throughout 2022, were honored at the ceremony.
The winners of the 2023 Nursing Excellence Awards are:
- Tina Parsons, BSN, RN - Acute Care

- Olivia Gronlund, RN - Emergency Department
