Obstetrical Care (OB)
UK St. Claire has been providing obstetric care for over 55 years.
It all started with our founder, Dr. Claire Louise Caudill, who is believed
to have delivered more than 8,000 babies in her career. Today, our doctors
are proud to carry on her legacy delivering more than 400 babies at St.
Claire Regional Medical Center each year.
Our medical staff offers a variety of family medicine doctors, OB/GYNs,
and midwives to choose from for your obstetrical care.
Family Medicine Doctor – Family medicine doctors provide care for
the entire family, including obstetrical care. Your doctor will see you
in the office throughout your pregnancy, and assist with labor and delivery.
Women often choose a family medicine doctor because they will not only
care for them during their pregnancy, but they will also care for their
baby beyond the pregnancy. UK St. Claire’s family medicine
doctors offer obstetrical care at our clinics in Bath, Carter, Elliott,
Menifee, and Rowan Counties.
OB/GYN – An obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN), specializes in women’s
health including female reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth.
Your OB/GYN will see you in the office throughout your pregnancy, assist
with labor and delivery, and perform a cesarean delivery if needed. OB/GYNs
on UK St. Claire’s medical staff are employed by UK HealthCare.
They see patients at UK Morehead Women’s Healthcare and deliver
babies and perform surgeries at St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
Midwife – Midwives are trained health professionals who assist healthy
women throughout their pregnancy, and during labor and delivery. Women
who want little medical intervention may choose a midwife to provide their
care. Midwives on UK St. Claire’s medical staff are employed
by UK HealthCare. They see patients at UK Morehead Women’s Healthcare
and deliver babies at St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

Gynecological Care
Routine gynecological care, including annual well visits, are an important
part of maintaining your overall health. Gynecological care may also be
necessary to diagnose and treat conditions that cause pelvic or vaginal
pain, abnormal uterine bleeding, and other conditions that can affect
your reproductive health.
Surgical Procedures
The OB/GYNs with UK Morehead Women's Healthcare offer a range of specialized
obstetrical and gynecological surgical care including C-section, D&C,
hysteroscopy, hysterectomy, and endometrial ablation.
